ABOUT THE ARTIST

A seasoned waterman, Robert Meiring (pronounced “May-ring”) ranked among the top Men’s surfers of the late 1970s.

Guided by a lifelong connection to the ocean, his creative path has evolved into a distinctive photographic practice under the name Rob May Vision — a personal extension of both identity and perspective.

Working with light, form, and perspective, his images move between realism, abstraction, and impressionism. Each piece begins with a moment that captures his attention, then transforms through a careful post-editing process to reflect what he saw and felt in that instant.

His work is an expression of freedom — translating lived experience into visual form.

Since 2019, his work has been exhibited internationally, including Melbourne, Berlin, Lisbon, Barcelona, and New York.
